About this site

This site supports a free, volunteer group scripture reading challenge organized by Gary Meyer. It is a personal project and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Views shared by readers are their own. By signing up or using the site, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy.

Who can join

• Accounts are for adults 18 and older.
• Readers 12 to 17 take part through a parent or guardian's Family reading. The parent or guardian adds them, gives permission, and records their reading. Family members don't log in or post.
• By adding a family member, you confirm that you are their parent or legal guardian and that you agree to these terms on their behalf.
• Adults who don't use the site can take part as a Friend on a reader's account. By adding a friend, you confirm that they are 18 or older and have agreed to let you record their reading. Friends don't log in or post.
• Please sign up only once, using your real first and last name, not a nickname. Your name is seen only by the organizer, who uses it to verify accounts. Accounts that can't be verified may be suspended until you contact the organizer. (Family members and friends added to your account can use a first name or nickname.)

Your Reader ID and PIN

Your Reader ID and PIN are how you check in. Please keep your PIN private and don't use one you use for anything important. Only check in for yourself, unless you are helping someone with their permission (for example, the organizer entering a paper slip).

Posting thoughts, answers, and questions

The site is meant to help us learn and encourage one another. When you post, please:

• Be kind, respectful, and uplifting.
• Keep posts about the scriptures and the challenge.
• Don't share anyone's full name, phone number, email, address, or other personal details, including your own.
• Don't post anything hurtful, inappropriate, or meant to argue, mock, or sell something.
• Post only your own words. Short scripture references and brief quotes are welcome.

Your posts are shared with the group under your Reader ID. By posting, you allow the site to show them to other readers, including in the year-end recap.

Moderation

The organizer may hide or remove any post, question, or account, or disable an account, if it doesn't follow these terms, or to keep the site safe and appropriate, especially for younger readers. Lightkeepers are chosen by the organizer and the role can be changed at any time.

The site is provided as is

The site is offered free of charge as a volunteer effort. We do our best to keep it working and accurate, but we can't promise it will always be available or error free, and progress or posts could be lost. The optional Google Calendar reminder button opens Google's website, which has its own terms.

Leaving the challenge

You can stop participating at any time. To have your information deleted, email the organizer. Parents and guardians can remove a family member at any time from the Check in page.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will update the date at the top of this page, and continued use of the site means you accept the updated terms.

Quién puede participar

• Los adultos que no usan el sitio pueden participar como Amigo en la cuenta de un lector. Al agregar a un amigo, confirmas que tiene 18 años o más y que aceptó que registres su lectura. Los amigos no inician sesión ni publican.
• Por favor inscríbete solo una vez, con tu nombre y apellido reales, no un apodo. Solo el organizador ve tu nombre y lo usa para verificar las cuentas. Las cuentas que no se puedan verificar pueden ser suspendidas hasta que te comuniques con el organizador. (Los familiares y amigos agregados a tu cuenta pueden usar un nombre o apodo.)

Tu número de lector y tu PIN

Tu número de lector y tu PIN te permiten registrar tu lectura. Por favor mantén tu PIN en privado y no uses uno que uses para algo importante. Registra solo tu propia lectura, a menos que ayudes a alguien con su permiso (por ejemplo, el organizador anotando una hoja en papel).

Publicar ideas, respuestas y preguntas

El sitio está hecho para ayudarnos a aprender y animarnos unos a otros. Al publicar, por favor:

• Sé amable, respetuoso y edificante.
• Mantén las publicaciones sobre las Escrituras y el reto.
• No compartas el nombre completo, teléfono, correo electrónico, dirección ni otros datos personales de nadie, incluidos los tuyos.
• No publiques nada hiriente, inapropiado o con la intención de discutir, burlarse o vender algo.
• Publica solo tus propias palabras. Las referencias breves a las Escrituras y las citas cortas son bienvenidas.

Tus publicaciones se comparten con el grupo con tu número de lector. Al publicar, permites que el sitio las muestre a otros lectores, incluso en el resumen de fin de año.

Moderación

El organizador puede ocultar o quitar cualquier publicación, pregunta o cuenta, o desactivar una cuenta, si no cumple estos términos, o para mantener el sitio seguro y apropiado. Los Guardianes de la Luz son elegidos por el organizador y esa función puede cambiar en cualquier momento.

El sitio se ofrece tal como está

El sitio se ofrece gratuitamente como un esfuerzo voluntario. Hacemos lo posible por que funcione bien, pero no podemos prometer que siempre esté disponible o libre de errores, y el progreso o las publicaciones podrían perderse. El botón opcional de recordatorio de Google Calendar abre el sitio de Google, que tiene sus propios términos.

Dejar el reto

Puedes dejar de participar en cualquier momento. Para que se borre tu información, escribe al organizador. Los padres, madres o tutores pueden quitar a un familiar en cualquier momento desde la página de Registrar.

Cambios a estos términos

Podemos actualizar estos términos de vez en cuando. Actualizaremos la fecha al principio de esta página, y seguir usando el sitio significa que aceptas los términos actualizados.
